Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies#

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They serve various purposes including remembering your preferences and helping us understand how our site is used.

2. Cookies We Use#

CrimeFile uses a minimal set of cookies, in line with our privacy-first approach:

  • ·Necessary cookies: Set by Cloudflare for DDoS protection, security, and CDN performance. These are essential for the website to function and cannot be disabled.
  • ·Functional storage: We store your language preference (crimefile-lang) and cookie consent (crimefile-cookie-consent) in browser localStorage — not cookies, but browser storage used solely to remember your preferences.

3. Analytics — Cookieless#

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service. Plausible does NOT use cookies. It does NOT collect personal data. It does NOT track individual users across sessions. Plausible measures aggregate website traffic using anonymised, non-identifiable data only.

Because Plausible is cookieless, it does not require cookie consent and is always active regardless of your consent choice.

4. No Third-Party Tracking#

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking or advertising cookies. We do not sell or share tracking data with advertisers.

5. How to Manage Cookies#

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling necessary Cloudflare cookies may affect site performance and security.

For browser-specific instructions, visit: support.mozilla.org (Firefox), support.google.com/chrome (Chrome), or support.apple.com (Safari).

You can also withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clearing your browser localStorage or using the cookie preferences link in our footer.
